2007 Soybean Production Conference

The University of Minnesota Extension Service and
the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council are sponsoring
Soybean Production Conferences at four locations around the state in
January 2007.
The conferences offer a unique opportunity for
producers and agricultural professionals to interact with University
of Minnesota research and Extension faculty. Researchers will
discuss their most recent studies and management strategies for
soybean production in western Minnesota.
The programs will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. at all locations, with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m. The
registration fee for the event is $30 per person, including lunch.
The dates and locations are as follows: Jan. 17-
Morton, Jackpot Junction (39375 County Hwy. 24); Jan. 18 - Owatonna,
Holiday Inn (2365 43rd St. NW.); Jan. 24- Princeton, Public Library
(100 4th Ave. S.); Jan. 25- Fergus Falls, Bigwood Event Center (921
Western Ave.).
Speakers will discuss risk avoidance and
strategies for managing pests such as soybean aphids, soybean cyst
nematode (SCN), soil borne and foliar diseases, and weeds. Speakers
will also address many other important topics including managing
corn-on-corn crops, tillage, soybean variety selection, and the
future of ethanol and biodiesel production in Minnesota.
