Soybean Variety Plot Tour
Wednesday July 30 Fosston, MN
Rick Roed Farm:
The Fosston
site is located from the intersection of Hwy 2 and County Road (CR)
6 (Fosston) 6.5 miles north on CR 6 (350th. Ave. SW), plot is on the
west side of road.
The soybean tours
will begin at 10:00 am and conclude with a complimentary noon lunch
at Rick’s farm shop. There are 49 Roundup Ready varieties to see at
Fosston. Discussions on current soybean issues will be included.
Corn
Fertility Plot Tour
Thursday July 31 Moorhead, MN
Tim Thompson Farm:
The Moorhead
site is located six miles south of I-94 on US highway 75 on the east
side of the road; field approach is at mile marker 242.
The
corn plot tour will begin at 10:00 am
and end at 11:30 am. The program is
sponsored by the Clay County Crop Improvement Association. The
agenda will include discussions on corn fertility with Dan Kaiser, U
of M Extension Nutrient Management Specialist, production tips from
Jeff Coulter, Corn Specialist, and pest management issues from
Phillip Glogoza, Regional Educator, Crops. For more information

Soybean Variety Plot - Corn Hybrid & Fertility Plot
Tour
Thursday July 31 Crookston, MN
Elliot Solheim Farm:
The Crookston site is located 2 miles east of Crookston on Hwy 2
then northeast on 230th. Ave. SW ¼ miles.
The
soybean tours will begin at 9:30 am
and conclude with a complimentary
noon lunch at the Minakwa Country Club. There are 49 Roundup Ready
varieties and 16 Conventional Food Grade varieties in replicated
plots which will be shown at this location.
Following lunch, the
Corn Hybrid Plot Tour will begin at 1:00 pm.
These plots are located 2 miles south of the soybean
plots on 230th Ave. SW and ½ mi. west on 300th St. SW.
Ogema Corn Field Day
Friday August 1 Ogema, MN
Bill and Eric Zurn Farm:
2 miles South (on Hiway 59) and 2 miles West (on Co Road 155) of
Ogema
The
program will begin at 9:30 am
and conclude at noon. The agenda for the day is scheduled to include
corn production topics related to agronomy, fertility, and pest
management.
